PAFSO is Hiring a Communications Officer

The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) is seeking an experienced Communications Officer to join its team.

PAFSO is seeking a Communications Officer to translate the Association’s strategic, operational, advocacy, and member-service priorities into clear, timely, accessible, and channel-appropriate communications.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Officer owns communications execution: day-to-day content delivery, digital channels, production coordination, publishing workflows, vendor follow-up, analytics, and amplification.

This is a hands-on practitioner role for someone who enjoys making things happen in a lean, mission-driven professional association. The Communications Officer contributes practical communications advice on timing, audience, channels, and execution, while working closely with leadership and the Advocacy and Stakeholder Relations Officer (ASRO), who owns advocacy substance, narrative, and stakeholder-relations planning.

Advanced bilingual capacity in English and French is expected for this role. The successful candidate should be able to write, edit, adapt, and quality-control communications in both official languages. This requires more than conversational bilingualism; it requires practical communications judgment in both languages.
