PAFSO has received a number of inquiries from candidates in the above noted selection process who were recently advised that they have been screened out of this selection process. Employees in these situations have a right to invoke the informal discussion process provided under the new Public Service Employment Act {PSEA}.
For a clear understanding of what this entails we would encourage you to visit the Public Service Commission’s web site at http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca. Click on Appointment Framework then click on Appointment Policy and scroll down to Informal Discussion. This should provide you with the information you require to make the most of this process.
Should you still have an issue with your candidacy in this selection process after the informal process there is restricted access to the new Public Service Staffing Tribunal {PSST}. The Tribunal has its own web site http://psst-tdfp.gc.ca. If you visit the web site there is a complete explanation of the Complaint process available, including the grounds and the time lines for filing a complaint.
We would also encourage you to read the most recent PAFSO Update article on the new PSEA to assist you in understanding the changes to the Act.
