The President reports that the Comprehensive Expenditure Review seeks an unprecedented 15% cut in operating costs by 2028–29, and that member questionnaire input will shape PAFSO’s proposals before departments submit savings plans by month’s end. Executive Committee nominations close August 29 and Randy Orr Memorial Award nominations August 31. Members can still volunteer for the advocacy “Street Team.”

The Comprehensive Expenditure Review will cut GAC’s budget by 15%, or $1.1 billion, and IRCC’s by $750 million by 2028–29, and PAFSO is pressing the Employer to put people first. Members are asked to complete PAFSO’s CER questionnaire by July 31 and can join a new advocacy “street team” by August 11. Executive Committee nominations close August 29.
