OTTAWA, ONTARIO– This morning, the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) and the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) have officially signed the new collective agreement for the Foreign Services (FS) group.
In late June, PAFSO, the union representing the 1,600 employees of Canada’s diplomatic service, held a vote to ratify the tentative agreement reached earlier that month.

“This represents an important step forward for our members,” said Pamela Isfeld, President of PAFSO. “We can all take pride in the advancement of our profession as reflected in the gains we have made through this agreement.”
As of this morning’s signing, all of the agreement’s provisions are in effect. TBS has 180 days to complete its implementation, and it is set to remain in effect until June 30, 2022.
