Canadian Diplomats in Boston Suspend Job Action

16 April 2013

On behalf of its 1,350 members, the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers expresses its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the yesterday’s bombings in Boston. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by this senseless and cowardly act of violence.

The top priority of the Foreign Service is to serve Canada and Canadians abroad. Due to this emergency, all job action measures in Boston were immediately suspended yesterday afternoon to ensure that Canadians receive the support they need.

For further information about the Government of Canada’s response to this emergency, Canadians should consult Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada’s websites at www.travel.gc.ca and www.international.gc.ca. Media should contact:
