The FS collective agreement has been signed

I am pleased to announce that the collective agreement for the FS group was officially signed this morning. This marks the end of a protracted four years of negotiations and is the result of hard work on behalf of everyone on the negotiating team.

The terms of the agreement give the Employer 120 days in order to complete its implementation. Sandra Hassan, Assistant deputy minister, ‎Treasury Board of Canada, mentioned that not everyone would see the impacts of the new agreement on their pay at the same time, as the implementation is being tackled through the new pay pod system in an effort to minimize Phoenix issues. She also asked that members wait until the end of the implementation period, October 17, 2018, before opening up a case with the Pay Centre.

Also, as this agreement is set to expire at the end of this month, PAFSO served the Employer with  notice to bargain. The next round of negotiations begins soon, and we will keep you up to date as things progress.

Thank you, and congratulations to all.

Ron Cochrane
Chair of the Negotiating Team
